Returning: twentysomething

Posted on May 17, 2013 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (0)

"ABC2 comedy twentysomething, featuring Jess Harris and Josh Schmidt is returning next month, joined again by Hamish Blake, Simon Russell and Leah de Niese.

Special webisodes will be available from Wednesday June 5.

With the reality of ‘thirtysomething’ looming, and Jess no longer able to pull off pigtails, it’s time for the best friends to quit their band-aid approach to life and finally ask “what are we destined to do?”

Season 2 of twentysomething sees Jess and Josh open up to new opportunities like studying, manual labour, fame, volunteer work and love. But their energetic approach and reckless lifestyle means chaos continues to follow. Broken limbs, broken hearts, robberies, insurance scams and at-home courtroom dramas create hilarious bumps in the road to self-discovery.

You can re-live the chaos of twentysomething – Series 1 with an encore screening on Thursdays at 10.55pm on ABC2, from May 16.

And in an online exclusive, you can see what the characters have been up to on their overseas adventure between season 1 and 2 with 6 x 2min webisodes filmed on location in Paris, Italy, the Netherlands and London.

These webisodes will be available from Wednesday June 5 at facebook.com/abc2 and facebook.com/twentysomething

They might be getting older, but they refuse to grow up.

A High Wire Films & Electric Living Production.

8:30pm Thursday June 27 on ABC2."

Hamish and Andy at the 2013 Logies

Posted on April 9, 2013 at 2:45 AM Comments comments (0)

On Sunday night TV Week, Channel Nine and Crown Casino hosted Australian television’s night of nights; the 55th annual Logie Awards.

Hamish and Andy were in attendance collectively nominated for four awards including the coveted Gold Logie.

Asher Keddie of Network Ten’s Offspring took out the top gong for the Most Popular Personality on Australian Television ahead of them.

Hamish did however snag the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter and the boys brought the house down as the first presenters, ‘not the hosts’, of the night.

Going for Gold

Posted on March 13, 2013 at 12:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Not only are both Hamish and Andy individually nominated for Australian television’s highest accolade, the Gold Logie, at this year’s TV Week Logie Awards, it has also been revealed that they will “open” the show.  This will be the second year in a row that there has been no official host.

The boys are also both in the running for the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter, while Euro Gap Year is up for Most Popular Light Entertainment Program and Caravan of Courage:Australia vs. New Zealand, Most Outstanding Light Entertainment Program.

The 'most outstanding' Logies are voted on by industry peers, as opposed to the 'most popular' awards which are decided by the general public.

The 2013 Logies will be held on Sunday, April 7th at Crown Casino in Melbourne and broadcast on Channel Nine.

Turning Japanese

"When you think of daring explorers, you have Burke and Wills, the Leyland brothers, and Hamish and Andy. The comedy duo are embarking on another TV gap year for Channel Nine and packing their backpacks for Asia.

''Whether it's Mongolia or Cambodia or Vietnam, we will not stop expanding our brains,'' Andy said.

Hamish is worried about the humid conditions but will turn a glass half empty into a glass half full, saying: ''I'm going to get a PhD in Bintang singlets."

In 2011, the partners in crime rampaged through the US and last year it was London for their Euro Gap Year during the Olympics. The Fox FM pair will board the bird in the next few months and their antics will screen later this year in a show that could be creatively titled Hamish & Andy's Asian Gap Year. Asian residents and tourists should be on full alert throughout the region and it could be wise to check the 'travel advice' section at the Department of Foreign Affairs Smart Traveller."
